Iowa Public Radio is losing about $875,000 in funding from the state’s university system, according to the Des Moines Register. That represents about 10% of the network’s funding. Editor’s $0.02: IPR has for decades been one of the most respected public radio outlets in the nation. As a kid growing up in that state, I listened to a lot of public radio. I am fully aware that nowadays noncommercial radio is a big pain for us, but I have always felt that the medium has great benefits to commercial radio as well.
