Primary station translator switch lands North Carolina group in FCC hot water.

The Commission has proposed a $2000 fine against Carolina Radio Group for changing the primary station of its translator in Raleigh without notice, and for failing to offer a “technical need” explanation. Originally the translator rebroadcast WQDR-HD3, a Classic Country format; then, the licensee started rebroadcasting WPLW, an AC format, a few weeks before the WQDR HD channel also began simulcasting WPLW.
