The National Association of Broadcasters filed comments on the Commission’s biennial 2020 Communications Marketplace Report docket, urging the agency to expand the definition of the competitive landscape to include “over-the-air radio and television stations, satellite radio, cable, satellite and fiber-optic pay-TV providers, podcasts, and hundreds of online audio and video services.” Calling the agency’s outlook “woefully outdated,” the filing warns that broadcast radio stations no longer compete only with other radio stations.
