NAB objects to new regulatory fees.

The National Association of Broadcasters has filed with the FCC its objections to the fee proposal for fiscal year 2021, calling them “unfair and unsustainable,” and say they disregard the impact of the pandemic on broadcasters. The crux of the issue, according to the NAB, is that while the overall FCC budget increases by only 0.5%, the regulatory fees are increasing 5-15%: “The math alone makes it apparent that broadcasters are not being charged more in regulatory fees because of any increased costs or benefits of their regulation.”
