The National Association of Broadcasters has a new educational program, conducted online, for new employees of small and medium market radio and television stations. The first component of “Broadcast Essentials” is an overview of things like licenses, content delivery, station organization, community service, and how a broadcast operation makes money. Says Steve Newberry, NAB Executive Vice President of Industry Affairs, “Navigating the broadcast business can be intimidating for first-time employees. . . We are pleased to offer our members this complimentary new resource designed to equip new employees with information they need to succeed in their new roles.” While the program is free to NAB members, it is available for purchase by non-members.
