Media diversity moves through the House.

Four media diversity bills have moved out of the House Communications and Technology Subcommittee to the full Energy and Commerce Committee for consideration. The bills deal with using a new tax certificate program to encourage minority and female ownership of broadcast stations, compelling the FCC to do something about “market entry barriers for socially disadvantaged individuals,” requiring the Commission to update its EEO rules, and reaffirming the House of Representatives’ commitment to media diversity.
