License yanked.

The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) has revoked the license of Bravo Broadcasting Co.’s Spanish religious teaching station, KIRT Mission, TX (1580), due to non-payment or partial payment of annual regulatory fees for eight consecutive years. The FCC’s Revocation Order, issued on November 21, mandates an immediate cessation of broadcasting, deletes the station’s call sign, and dismisses its license renewal application. KIRT failed to pay or only partially paid regulatory fees from fiscal years 2012 to 2021. Despite the FCC’s demand letters and a March 15, 2023 notice, giving a 60-day window to demonstrate full payment or provide cause for fee exemption or deferral, the station neither paid nor responded. The FCC, citing the licensee’s failure to address regulatory fee debts and acknowledge obligations, deemed revocation appropriate.
