Her career is older than most of us.

Charlye Parker, a pioneering female radio host in Washington State, will retire after 60 years in broadcasting. Her farewell show airs on June 14 on Classic Country KXA-AM & FM. Parker’s career included stints at KTRC, KRZY, KWYZ, KMPS, and 21 years at KHAY. She was one of the first female Program Directors, serving KGHL and KIDX from 1977 to 1988. Known as “Snohomish County’s First Lady of Country,” Parker joined KXA Radio in 2012 and became a beloved weekend morning host. Colleagues praised her kindness, wit, and passion for classic country music and the Pacific Northwest.
