Diversity legislation draws wide support.

All fifty State Broadcasters Associations, along with those from the District of Columbia and Puerto Rico, are urging Congress to pass the VOICES (Voices of Immigrant Communities Empowering Survivors) Act. This legislation aims to promote diversity in media ownership by reinstating the Diversity Tax Certificate Program. Introduced by Rep. Steven Horsford and Sen. Gary Peters, the VOICES Act encourages investments in TV and radio stations by women and people of color through tax incentives. The letter emphasizes the urgency of this action to create a media environment that reflects America’s diversity. The NAB and other organizations also support the VOICES Act.
