Wheeler pushes net neutrality. Kind of.

At his appearance at the International Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, FCC Chairman Tom Wheeler said he wants to usher in a more stable version of Net Neutrality. Wheeler said, “There is a way to do Title II right. . .for the last 20 years, the wireless industry has been monumentally successful.” Later in his remarks, however, Wheeler noted, “There are instances where priority [tiered service levels] makes a whole heck of a lot of sense. We’re going to propose rules that say that no blocking, no throttling, paid prioritization, all that list of issues, and that there is a yardstick against which behavior should be measured. And that yardstick is ‘just and reasonable.'” The vote will be taken on February 26.
