radio loves tvWRC-TV and WTOP Radio, owned by separate companies, have put together a deal whereby the stations will combine resources to cover news, weather, and traffic on multiple platforms “in a collaborative way that is unprecedented in the Washington region,” according to a jointly-released press statement. Editor’s $0.02: This may be a new thing in major markets, but in small-market radio, in our attempts to operate more efficiently, deals like this have been fairly common. In general, such arrangements have worked out well for both parties.
