So Verizon is going to buy AOL. For those who haven’t kept up, four and a half billion dollars seems like a pretty hefty price to pay for a service that nobody uses. . .but what used to be known as “America On Line” has transformed itself into a pretty good, pretty relevant news service and portal.
So Verizon is laying out a bit more than chump change for the service. Maybe it’s just me, maybe my mentality is too small, but when a giant becomes gianter, there is usually an agenda behind it, and rarely do the agendas of giants benefit small businesses like yours or mine.
