Survey says: people love FM radio. AM, not so much.

kassof-markA new study from Mark Kassof and Company demonstrates that 83% of all adults (18-64) approve of the job that FM radio is doing, and 27% “strongly approve”; only 1% “strongly disapprove.” The number one reason for FM’s appeal is the music, followed by information and the variety of choices it offers. Meanwhile, only 44% of adults (18-64) approve of the job that AM radio is doing. Those who disapprove amount to 19%; 37%—a telling figure indeed—have no opinion. AM scores well in the services it provides—news, weather, etc.—but does poorly due to its reception and—surprise—its talk shows.
