Survey says: consumer confidence edges up.

up-trendAccording to a new Nielsen Consumer Confidence Index, global consumer confidence rose one index point in the third quarter 298—up from 97 in the previous quarter and 95 from the beginning of the year. The index has built on a steady rise for 2 ½ years, and is now higher than the pre-recession level of 94. According to Nielsen, the English translation of that 98 is “cautious optimism.”
