Stan Freberg, 88.

freberg-stanThe talented audiophile died last week of natural causes at his home in Santa Monica, CA. Best known for his satirical recordings of the 50s and 60s, Freberg also starred in a couple of radio series in the mid-50s: a sitcom, “That’s Rich,” and an eponymous summer variety show. He then took on the world of advertising; through his agency, Freberg Limited (But Not Very), he was the creator and star of a number of laugh-out-loud commercial campaigns, including a classic pro-radio series for the RAB. Later on he hosted a syndicated classic radio show, “When Radio Was,” and did a live shift for Los Angeles station KFI.
