Rush v. Cumulus

Cumulus Media CEO Lew Dickey has been outspoken about his view that Rush Limbaugh has caused a revenue decline on the Cumulus stations that carry him, starting with the fallout from the Sandra Fluke flap.

Now, with Limbaugh’s 36-market Cumulus contract set to expire at the end of this year, the talker is speaking out himself, intimating that he just might move his show to competing stations when his contract is up.

The New York Daily News quotes a source in the Limbaugh camp:

Dickey keeps complaining about falling revenue, but his stations have long lagged behind their competitors in sales by a substantial margin. Rush Limbaugh’s ratings have outperformed every other program on WABC and many other stations for years.”
