Ron Jacobs, 78.

jacobs-ronAnyone familiar with the birth of Top 40 radio in the late 50s early 60s will know Mr. Jacobs’s name. He was perhaps the most famous for programming KH J in Los Angeles, where he teamed up with another legend, Bill Drake, to launch “Boss Radio,” the much-copied, much-misunderstood “more music” format that racked up Number One numbers throughout the country. Later he teamed up with Casey Kasem ,to create American Top 40, the most widely-syndicated radio program in history.
