While, as usual, this week has seen a spate of new podcast introductions—including one from FCC Commissioner Jessica Rosenworcel—we’ve also seen another company exiting the space. BuzzFeed is getting out of the podcast business, slashing its production team and shutting down almost all of its podcasts. The reason: “[a] move to a production model that is more like our TV projects”—a.k.a. video.
