Patent Infringement Lawsuits Have Teeth

What at first seemed to be a frivolous set of actions by the company called Personal Audio, which claims to hold patents on podcasting technology, has turned out to be anything but.

The company won a suit against Apple, worth $8 million plus $4 million in interest. Now it is going after CBS and NBC Universal, both of which companies are, according to Personal Audio, “unauthorized users of Personal Audio’s podcasting technology (‘system for disseminating media content representing episodes in a serialized sequence’).”
