MRC keeps the madness going.

As what some observers will see to be a perfect example of irony, the Media Ratings Council is reportedly very close to giving social-media miscreants Facebook and Instagram full accreditation, despite what Ad Age calls “a series of embarrassing missions in recent years about Facebook’s internal audience measurement measures.” According to Ad Age, Facebook and Instagram “have cleared a key hurdle toward accredited third-party measurement of ad viewability.” Apparently, according to the MRC Audit Committee, “Facebook is materially compliant with our minimum standards and applicable industry measurement guidelines.”
