Three House Republicans have sent a letter to FCC chairman Tom Wheeler requesting an explanation for the proposed move of 200 computer network servers from the Commission’s Washington, DC building to a new off-site facility in West Virginia. Greg Walden (R-OR), Fred Upton (R-MI) and Tim Murphy (R-PA) question the move on the basis of expense, data protection, and downtime during the move. In the letter, the authors take a swipe at the Commission, citing their “long-standing concerns with the fairness, openness, and transparency of the Commission’s administrative and rulemaking process.”
