Marti broadcasts on the chopping block.

martiIf Representative Betty McCollum (D-MN) has her way, Radio Marti and TV Marti—the services which have been broadcasting propaganda to Cuba for over 30 years—will go silent. She has introduced the “Stop Wasting Taxpayer Money on Cuba Broadcasting Act,” about which she says, “Radio and TV Marti are artifacts. Our taxpayers should not be funding propaganda broadcasting. Instead, we should be working to facilitate efforts for the American people to engage directly with the Cuban people.” She notes the services have cost $770 million over their lifetimes.
