LPFM/Translator Rule Changes on FCC Agenda

The November 30 open meeting will consider the Fifth Order on Reconsideration and Sixth Report and Order on low-power FM and FM translators. The Local Community Radio Act has compelled reconsideration of ownership caps, waivers on LPFM second-adjacent channel distance separation requirements, eliminating 10-watt LPFMs, and other issues.

It should be noted that the Commission has a backlog of over 6,000 pending translator applications that must be dealt with before frequencies are opened for LP FM use.
