LPFM advocates want it all.

The Low-Power FM Advocacy Group has filed a Petition for Rulemaking asking the FCC to reclassify LPFMs as a primary service to prevent them from being crowded off the air when changes occur to full-power stations. The Petition also seeks a power increase, use of “-FM” call letters, lower fines for rule violations, and the ability to sell flat-out commercials. According to LPFM-AG founder Dave Solomon, “People have lost their entire life savings by just trying to serve the community. It is time we stand up and take action for past, present, and future LPFM stations. The FCC must level out the playing field once and for all.”
