Industry associations warn of illegal list selling.

bandit-printerThe NAB and the RAB are warning broadcasters about “an unaffiliated group” which is contacting Radio Show participants and offering to sell emails and phone numbers of those who attended the Show. According to the associations, “Please be advised that RAB and NAB have not given any information to this group, nor have they received permission from us to sell or distribute such information.” They emphasize that they adhere to their own privacy policy, wherein they do not sell email addresses or phone numbers: “Per our privacy policy, RAB and NAB do not share our lists of email addresses or phone numbers with third parties, except when asked to do so by law, regulation or government request, or on a restricted basis with contractors fulfilling obligations directly related to NAB/RAB activities.”
