Indiana passes FM chip resolution.

The Indiana State Senate has adopted a resolution “urging wireless carriers to activate the FM radio receivers in smart phones.” The resolution details the consumer benefits of an activated FM radio in smart phones: emergency access, no impact on battery life, and no strain on data usage. Reports are that similar resolutions are planned in other states as well. Editor’s $0.02: Bear in mind that resolutions are typically nonbinding; they do not have the force of law.
