In a private meeting with FCC Commissioner Michael O’Rielly and his legal advisor, officials from iHeartMedia, including CEO Bob Pittman, once again defended the big AM sticks by saying that the reduction of interference protections for Class A stations “would harm, not revitalize the AM band.” Further, the iHeartMedia team stumped for equal participation by all AM stations in any AM-only FM translator window.
