iHeartMedia celebrates court victory.

A Georgia court has ruled for iHeartMedia in the copyright suit brought by Arthur and Barbara Sheridan over pre-1972 copyright royalty claims. The Sheridans, who own the master recordings of a number of songs from that era by such artists as the Flamingos, the Moonglows, and T-Bone Walker, argued that streaming of those artists constituted “transfer of sound recordings without the owner’s consent,” which is in violation of Georgia laws. But the Georgia Supreme Court ruled otherwise.
