If at First You Don’t Succeed. . .

Undaunted by the failure of previous attempts, Representative Mel Watt announced last week that he will introduce yet another bill to compel broadcast radio stations to pay royalties to performers for the music we play. NAB EVP/communications Dennis Wharton commented, “NAB strongly opposes a new performance tax that would kill jobs at America’s hometown radio stations while diverting millions of dollars to offshore record labels.”
