FEMA Does Some Networking

The government agency which oversees the Emergency Alert System, has identified Premiere Networks as a Primary Entry Point station for EAS, using premiere’s satellite system to reach affiliates with EAS messages.

According to FEMA National Continuity Program Assistant Administrator Damon Penn, “This cooperative effort between FEMA and From year Networks is one of the latest initiatives to engage the private sector’s cooperation in raising community preparedness across the nation. We count on the broadcast industry to alert and warned the public through the standard broadcast Emergency Alert System (EAS). . .if a national emergency occurs.”
