FCC mulls contest disclosure changes.

rulesThe first draft of the agenda for the FCC’s November open meeting, to take place on the 21st, includes a reconsideration of broadcast station contest terms disclosure rules. Quoting the release issued by the FCC chairman, “Modernizing Contest rules: the Commission will consider a Notice of Proposed Rulemaking to provide broadcasters greater flexibility in their disclosure of contest terms.” These rules have been under consideration ever since Entercom made a proposal two years ago that contest rules details could be posted on the Internet as an alternative to broadcasting them on the air.
