End of an era.

Ever since, well, forever, the call letters WBEB have been associated with industry icon Jerry Lee. But all that will change in the near future, as Entercom will be acquiring “101.1 MORE FM” for $57.5 million—not a bad payday for a fellow who was barely out of college when he put a brand-new radio station on the air in Philadelphia in the early 60s. Somehow resisting the urge to expand, Jerry shepherded his radio station through a number of format and call-letter changes, introducing several industry innovations along the way. Jerry has had an incalculable impact on our industry, as well as the world in general through his philanthropic efforts. Congratulations, Jerry, and we can’t wait for the next chapter.
