Dial Global in Conservation Mode

After releasing their first financials since they acquired Westwood One, Dial Global showed increased revenues but also sharply increased costs. As a result of the tepid performance picture, the company is voluntarily delisting from the NASDAQ stock market. D-G took a shot at a competing talker in its filing, saying, “We believe our 2012 results were adversely impacted by, among other things, . . .advertisers’ response to controversial statements a certain nationally syndicated talk radio personality in March 2012”—a reference to the harsh advertiser reaction to Rush Limbaugh’s comments about Sandra Fluke.
