Cumulus Comes Full Circle

It wasn’t that long ago that Cumulus partnered with Nielsen in an attempt to compete with Arbitron in the radio ratings arena.

That didn’t work, Nielsen closed up shop, and Cumulus was without any ratings at all for three years.

Fast forward to this week: Arbitron is now owned by Nielsen, and Cumulus was welcomed with open arms back into the Arbitron fold, having signed a multi-year agreement for diary and PPM ratings services for all 450 Cumulus stations in 100 markets.
