Contest alert: local contesting, smaller prizes.

According to a new study by Nuvoodoo, “likely PPM participants” (e.g., those who will engage in ratings study that a top radio market wearing a portable people meter) are more likely to play a local radio contest with the smaller prize that a national contest with a larger prize (59.8% versus 35.7%). Among everyone, survey, liklies and not, the gap is wider, with more people favoring the local contests (63.1% versus 28.3%).
