Communications Act revamp in the works.

thune-johnSen. John Thune (R-SD) spoke before the American Enterprise Institute last week, and brought up the fact that the Senate Commerce Committee will soon begin to rewrite the Communications Act. After calling President Obama “increasingly imperious” for urging the regulation of the Internet under Title II of the Act, he said that the incident indicates “the consequences of the obsolescence [of the Communications Act] and the need for action.” Thune’s committee will conduct a review parallel to that of the House Energy and Commerce Committee, whose review is already underway.
