Over 150 broadcasters and notables came out for the Broadcasters Foundation of America Annual Celebrity Golf Tournament at the Sleepy Hollow Country Club in Briarcliff Manor, NY last week, raising $250,000 to fund grants to help broadcasters in need. Cases in point: The Foundation has already distributed $50,000 collectively to 50 broadcasters impacted by Hurricane Harvey, and is preparing to distribute $100,000 in emergency grants for those affected by Hurricane Irma. According to Foundation Chairman Dan Mason, “The funds come at a time when more broadcasters than ever are in need of emergency assistance.” Foundation President Jim Thompson said, “We are pacing to distribute more than $1 million in monthly and emergency grants over the next 12 months.”
