Are you ready for dot-radio?

The EBU (European Broadcasting Union) was awarded the right to distribute and manage the “.radio” TLD (top level domain) by ICANN (the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names & Numbers) back in July 2016, and now the EBU has announced how you can qualify and apply for a .radio domain name. According to EBU .radio TLD manager Alain Artero, “The TLD will be focused on content and matters specific to radio, and we want to prevent speculators and cybersquatting in this TLD; this extension will therefore rapidly become a high-value internet space for websites, mail systems and other internet applications.” Those who qualify for the use of .radio include radio broadcasting stations, broadcast unions, radio amateurs, radio professionals, and radio-related sellers of radio-industry goods and services.
