Apple acquires Shazam.

In a $400 million deal first rumored last week, the Cupertino company has bought the song-tagging outfit. The price is far from the $1 billion valuation Shazam carried for a while, but disappointing earnings brought the vale down. But it’s a good fit for Apple, which is playing catch-up with Google, which has better-than-Siri song-recognition technology built into its new Pixel phone.
