And so it begins.

ABS Entertainment, the owner of a number of pre-1972 recordings, is suing Cumulus, iHeartMedia and CBS to recover royalties for playing those recordings. The company is asking for over $15 million in compensatory damages; they allege infringement of ownership rights, misappropriation of ownership and property rights, and conversion. In the filing, ABS slams the media companies for “pernicious, improper and illegal conduct.”
