A new major-market AM? No, you’re not dreaming.

A new construction permit for an AM radio station in Culver City, CA—adjacent to Los Angeles—has been granted by the FCC. The new station will put out 120 W days and 150 W nights. The licensee actually won the bidding for the allocation back in 2014, but it was immediately challenged by Ontario Broadcasting, which contended that the proposed facility would not cover its own community of license and would cause interference with adjacent stations.
